With the growing interest in food and cooking (just look at the popularity of the Food Network) growing our own veggies and herbs is becoming more and more popular.  Herbs can be grown right in your perennial garden, in your veggie garden or in planters on your patio or deck or some can even have a home on your kitchen window sill.

Benefits of growing your own herbs:
  • Herbs will always be  available.  Whether they are in your garden or just outside your back door you will always have them quickly.
  • Herbs have added health benefits as well.  Many are rich in vitamins and herbs like Stevia are a natural sweetener(think 100times sweeter than sugar)  Also just getting outside and tending the garden is a great way to get some exercise and improve your health.
  • Herbs can change a boring meal of chicken into a wonderful new creation.  Simple sides can be upgrade to sensational sides with the addition of some different herbs.
  • Everyone goes to the grocery store and buys a bunch of herbs but really only use a small amount and end up throwing out the rest.  With your own herb garden you just harvest what you need and there is no waste.
