With the growing interest in food and cooking (just look at the popularity of the Food Network) growing our own veggies and herbs is becoming more and more popular. Herbs can be grown right in your perennial garden, in your veggie garden or in planters on your patio or deck or some can even have a home on your kitchen window sill.
Benefits of growing your own herbs:

BASIL SALAD DRESSING
Combine all ingredients in blender. Adjust salt and vinegar to taste.
Refrigerate in a tightly sealed glass jar for up to a week.
Bring to room temperature before serving.
- 2 big bunches basil (3 cups)
- 4-6 cloves garlic (peeled)
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 4 tbsp balsamic vinegar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Combine all ingredients in blender. Adjust salt and vinegar to taste.
